Its pricing review recommends rules that would let retailers bundle demand charges, time-of-use windows and export tariffs into genuinely simple offers, including flat monthly subscriptions for people who just want certainty, like a streaming bill.
We think that's the right call. But the AEMC's own roadmap stretches over a decade, the rules still have to be written, and the first real subscription plans are years away. And when they do arrive, there'll be a new question to answer: how much is certainty worth for your home's usage?
